You’ll be drinking these drinks all summer long if you follow these nutritionist suggestions.
They replacing their heated mugs with chilled beverages now that summer is here. The new seasonal menu from Dunkin’ will make this very simple.
The latest coffee drink flavours offered by the breakfast chain are a Kiwi Watermelon Dunkin’ Refresher, Vanilla Frosted Donut Signature Latte, and Blueberry Donut Iced Coffee. Additionally, Strawberry Dragon fruit and Mango Pineapple Dunkin’ Refreshers are back on the summer menu. Not to mention how delicious-sounding the new Green Goddess Wrap with its combination of sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese, and herbaceous vinaigrette sounds.
The flavour that senior nutrition editor Maria Laura Haddad-Garcia and our nutrition editor Jessica Ball, M.S., RD, are most eager to test is the Blueberry Donut Iced Coffee. The fruity flavour is meant to resemble the beloved blueberry doughnut flavour.
Haddad-Garcia says, “Even though I usually love to drink my coffee hot, sunny days here in Austin make me crave iced coffee every now and then.” Additionally, the Blueberry Donut Iced Coffee seems really good. It sounds like a winning combination to combine sweet pastry dough with blueberry flavours.
The following is a breakdown of the nutrients in a small blueberry donut iced coffee:
- 170 calories
- 6 grams total fat
- 3 grams saturated fat
- 20 milligrams cholesterol
- 75 milligrams sodium
- 27 grams carbohydrates
- 0 grams fiber
- 26 grams total sugar
- 22 grams added sugar
- 3 grams protein
You should be aware of other elements, such as the sugar content, even though the drink has less calories and sodium.
“To help reduce the amount of added sugar in the drink, if I were to order this, I would choose the small size and ask for half the amount of syrup,” says Ball. The small form of this drink now contains roughly 22 grammes, which is rather near to the 25 grammes that the American Heart Association and Dietary Guidelines recommend as the maximum intake. I may enjoy the flavour more in line with my objectives if I used half of the syrup.
Haddad-Garcia would place the exact same drink order as Ball. She can also absolutely see herself getting the new Green Goddess Wrap as a quick lunch option.
The nutritional breakdown of a single Green Goddess Wrap is as follows:
- 260 calories
- 6 grams total fat
- 2 grams saturated fat
- 10 milligrams cholesterol
- 900 milligrams sodium

- 3 grams fiber
- 4 grams total sugar
- 1 gram added sugar
- 15 grams protein
According to Haddad-Garcia, “its combination of scrambled egg whites, farro, and feta cheese provides 15 grammes of protein for a satisfying bite.” “But with 990 milligrammes of sodium per wrap, it’s on the higher end, accounting for more than 40% of the Dietary Guidelines for Americans’ recommended maximum limit intake.” She continues by saying that even if she does order this wrap, she intends to watch out for hidden sources of sodium and keep her daily intake to a minimum.

The nutritional content of the Strawberry Dragonfruit Refresher and the new Kiwi Watermelon Refresher are almost the same. A small serving of any of the three drinks has 36–38 grammes of added sugar. Nguyen clarifies, though, why she would still order the Mango Pineapple Refresher just as it is.
She says, “I would get it as an occasional sweet treat to keep my added sugar intake lower, since the small size does have 38 grammes of added sugar.” we think that a healthy eating pattern can incorporate any type of food or beverage. You should strive for your health goals, but moderation is important. Every now and again, indulge in a delicious treat.
